Abstract
In September 2018, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation about 0,28 percent, in other words Consumer Price Index (CPI) declined from 132,56 in August 2018 to 132,19 in September 2018.
The national level also experienced deflation about 0,18 percent. Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced deflation which were 0,29 percent and 0,22 percent,
respectively. Deflation was due to decreasing price index of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 1,27 percent; clothing about 0,18 percent; transport, communication and financial services about
0,13 percent; and education, recreation and sport about 0,02 percent . While the increasing price index occurred in the following groups: health about 0,32 percent; housing, water, electricity and
fuel about 0,12 percent; and prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco about 0,06 percent. Inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in September 2018, based on calendar year, was around 1,78 percent. Furthermore, inflation rate of year on year in September 2018 documented at 3,09 percent
which was lower than the inflation rate of year on year in September 2017 that was about 3,47 percent.
