Abstract
·
In May 2020, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced
deflation of about 0,19 percent, in other words, the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
decreased from 103,16 in April 2020 to 102,96 in May 2020. Meanwhile, the national
level experienced inflation of 0,07 percent.

Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and
Bima city experienced deflation which was 0,15 percent and 0,34 percent,
respectively.

Deflation was due to decreasing price index of
the following expenditure groups: food, beverages and tobacco about -0,31 percent;
clothing and footwear about -0,16 percent; housing, water, electricity, and
household fuel about -0,39 percent; equipment, tools and routine household
maintenance about -0,02 percent; health about -0,03 percent; transportation
about -0,05 percent; and personal care and other services about -0,02 percent.
Meanwhile, the price index of the following expenditure groups increased:
information, communication and financial services about 0,00 percent; leisure,
sport and culture about 0,03 percent; education about 0,00 percent; food and
beverages services/restaurant about 0,01 percent.
