NTB, February 2019 : Consumer Price Index decreased by 0.33 percent

Abstract

In February 2019, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation about 0,33 percent, in other words Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased from 134,67 in January 2019 to 134,22 in February 2019. The national level also experienced deflation about 0,08 percent.
Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced deflation which were 0,24 percent and 0,69 percent, respectively.
Deflation was due to decreasing price index of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 1,67 percent; education, recreation and sport about 0,03 percent. Meanwhile increasing index occurred at clothing about 0,17 percent; prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco about 0,17 percent; health about 0,13 percent; transport, communication and financial services about 0,11 percent; and housing, water, electricity and fuel about 0,03 percent.
Inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in February 2019, based on calendar year, was about 0,17 percent. It was lower compared to February 2018 which was around 0,90 percent. Meanwhile, inflation rate of year on year in February 2019 documented at 2,42 percent which was also lower than the inflation rate of year on year in February 2018 that was about 2,85 percent.
