Abstract

The availability of timely and accurate agricultural data is the foundation for realizing agricultural policies that are on target. Since 2018, BPS has collaborated with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), supported by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN), the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), and the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN). , seeks to improve the methodology for calculating rice harvested area through the application of objective measurement by utilizing advances in information and communication technology as well as the availability of high resolution satellite imagery. This collaboration is manifested in an activity entitled "Integrated Food Crops Agricultural Statistics Data Collection with Area Sample Framework Method (KSA)" or better known as the KSA Survey. The ASF Survey for rice commodities began to be implemented nationally in 2018. Field observations The KSA survey was conducted on the last 7 (seven) days of each month. Based on the results of the KSA Survey, in 2020, the rice harvested area in West Nusa Tenggara is estimated at 273.46 thousand hectares or a decrease of 8.21 thousand hectares (2.91 percent) compared to 2019. Meanwhile, rice production in Nusa Tenggara West in 2020 is estimated at 1.32 million tons of GKG. If converted into rice, rice production in West Nusa Tenggara in 2020 will reach around 746.34 thousand tons, or a decrease of 48.16 thousand tons (6.06 percent) compared to rice production in 2019. In addition to producing an estimated harvest area, The KSA survey also provides an overview of other very rice phases, such as the area of the early vegetative, late vegetative, generative, puso phases, as well as the area of rice fields and fields that are not being planted with rice.
