NTB, April 2020: Consumer Price Index fell by 0.28 Percent

·       In April 2020, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation of about 0,28 percent, in other words, Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased from 103,45 in March 2020 to 103,16 in April 2020. Meanwhile, the national level experienced inflation of about 0,08 percent.

·       Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced deflation which was 0,33 percent and 0,08 percent, respectively.

·       Deflation was due to decreasing price index of the following expenditure groups: food, beverages and tobacco about -0,70 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel about -0,05 percent; and transportation about -1,89 percent. Meanwhile, the price index of the following expenditure groups increased: clothing and footwear about 0,01 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance about 0,18 percent; health about 0,39 percent; information, communication and financial services about 0,12 percent; leisure, sport and culture about 0,06 percent; education about 0,00 percent; food and beverages services/restaurant about 0,18 percent; and personal care and other services about 2,03 percent.

·     The inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in April 2020, based on the calendar year, was 0,00 percent. It was lower compared to April 2019 which was 0,36 percent. Meanwhile, the inflation rate of year on year in April 2020 was documented at 1,12 percent which was lower than the inflation rate of year on year in April 2019 which was 2,48 percent.
