Abstract
·
In August 2020, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation
of -0,05 percent, in other words, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased from
103,20 in July 2020 to 103,15 in August 2020. Furthermore, the national level also
experienced deflation of -0,05 percent.

Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and
Bima city experienced deflation, which was 0,03 percent and 0,12 percent,
respectively.

Inflation was due to decreasing price index of
the following expenditure groups: food, beverages and tobacco about -1,20
percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance about -0,06
percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel about -0,01 percent.
Meanwhile, the price index of the following expenditure groups increased: personal
care and other services about 2,75 percent; transportation about 1,15 percent; health
about 0,25 percent; education about 0,15 percent; food and beverages
services/restaurant about 0,10 percent; leisure, sport and culture about 0,05
percent; information, communication and financial services about 0,01 percent; and
clothing and footwear about 0,00 percent.
