September 2020: Combined Deflation of 0.04 percent

·       In September 2020, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation of -0,04 percent, in other words, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased from 103,15 in August 2020 to 103,11 in September 2020. Furthermore, the national level also experienced deflation of -0,05 percent.

·       Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced deflation, which was 0,04 percent and 0,02 percent, respectively.

·       Inflation was due to decreasing price index of the following expenditure groups: information, communication and financial services about -0,83 percent; leisure, sport and culture about -0,20 percent; and food, beverages and tobacco about -0,15 percent. Meanwhile, the price index of the following expenditure groups increased: transportation about 0,37 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance about 0,21 percent; health about 0,06 percent; personal care and other services about 0,03 percent; clothing and footwear about 0,01 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel about 0,00 percent; education about 0,00 percent; and food and beverages services/restaurant about 0,00 percent.

The inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in September 2020, based on the calendar year, was -0,04 percent. It was lower compared to September 2019 which was 0,81 percent. Furthermore, the year-on-year inflation rate in September 2020 was documented at 0,84 percent which was lower than the year-on-year inflation rate in September 2019 which was 2,17 percent.
