Abstract

The calculation of farmer terms of trade (FTT) was based on the base year 2012=100.  In April 2019, the value of farmer terms of trade by sub sector as follows: food crops about 114,25, horticulture about 82,16; smallholders estate crops about 92,56; animal husbandry about 126,15; and fishery about 107,31. Farmer terms of trade of fishery can be distinguished into two types which are capture fishery and aquaculture fishery about 115,54 and 94,07, respectively. All in all, farmer terms of trade in April 2019 documented at 109,36, decreased about 0,99 percent compared to its value in the previous month which was about 110,46 percent.

Agricultural terms of trade in April 2019 around 117,23 percent, decreased by 0,74 percent compared to last month that was around 118,10 percent. Majority of agricultural terms of trade reached the value above 100 except for horticulture which only amounted of 90,96 percent. The agricultural terms of trade of other sub sectors were: animal husbandry (137,26); food crops (119,10); fishery (117,28); and smallholders estate crops (101,49).

Of 33 province, 11 provinces experienced an increase in the value of its farmer terms of trade meanwhile the rest experienced otherwise. The highest increase occurred in Sulawesi Barat of 1,39 percent, while the highest decrease occurred in Gorontalo of -1,60 percent.

In April 2019, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced rural inflation about 0,36 percent. This was due to increasing value of Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 0,70 percent; clothing about 0,14 percent; prepared food, beverages and tobacco about 0,12 percent; housing about 0,09 percent; health about 0,04 percent; transportation and communication about 0,02 percent; and education, recreation and sport about 0,02 percent.
