Abstract
·
In March 2018, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced
deflation about 0,24 percent, in other words Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell
from 131,05 in January 2018 to 130,73 in February 2018. The rate was below the national
level that recorded inflation at 0,20 percent.

Looking at regional level, both Mataram and Bima city
experienced deflation that were 0,15 percent and 0,57 percent, respectively.

Deflation was due to decreasing price index of the
following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 1,62 percent; transport,
communication and financial services about 0,06 percent; By contrast,
increasing index occured in health about 0,92 percent; clothing about 0,33
percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel about 0,26 percent; prepared
food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco about 0,12 percent; and education,
recreation and sport about 0,02 percent.

Inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat, based on
calendar year, in March 2018 was about 0,65 percent, lower than inflation rate
of March 2017 which was about 1,06 percent. Furthermore, inflation rate of year
on year in March 2018 documented at 3,30 percent also lower than the inflation
rate of year on year in March 2017 that was about 4,33 percent.
