Farmers Exchange Rate Development September 2024

The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib). NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs. The September 2024 NTP was 119.36, an increase of 0.19 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the Farmer-Paid Price Index (Ib) falling by 0.31 percent, deeper than the decline in the Farmer-Accepted Price Index (It) by 0.11 percent. NTP values above 100 for all subsectors, namely the Food Crops Subsector at 122.14; Horticulture Subsector by 135.68; the People's Plantation Crops Subsector by 106.70; Livestock Subsector at 110.18; and the Fisheries Subsector at 101.99. In September 2024, there was a decrease in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in NTB Province by 0.55 percent due to a decrease in the index in the Food, Beverages, and Tobacco expenditure group and the Transportation group. The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Businesses (NTUP) in NTB Province in September 2024 was 120.10 or down 0.25 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
