🟢 The total labor force in August 2022 was 2.80 million people, an increase of 59.29 thousand people compared to August 2021. In line with the increase in the number of labor force, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also increased by 0.36 percentage points.
🟢 The August 2022 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 2.89 percent, down 0.12 percentage points compared to August 2021.
🟢 The working population is 2.72 million people, an increase of 60.95 thousand people from August 2021. The jobs that experienced the largest increase in the percentage of the working population were the Agricultural Sector (1.96 percentage points), Wholesale and Retail Trade (0.81 percentage points), and Other Services (0.40 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sectors that experienced the biggest declines were the Manufacturing Industry Sector (1.99 percentage points), Food and Drink Accommodation Provision (0.73 percentage points), and Transportation and Warehousing (0.54 percentage points).
🟢 In August 2022, as many as 2.05 million people (75.36 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 1.46 percentage points compared to August 2021.
🟢 Most of the working population is full-time workers (61.40 percent). While part-time workers were 25.30 percent and half unemployed were 13.30 percent.
🟢 There are 54.08 thousand people (1.37 percent of the working-age population) affected by COVID-19. It consists of unemployment due to COVID-19 (2.61 thousand people), Non-Labor Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (6.80 thousand people), while not working due to COVID-19 (2.56 thousand people), and working population who experienced reduced working hours due to COVID-19 (42.10 thousand people).
