NTB, October 2022: West Nusa Tenggara Went Through Deflation

▪ October 2022, combined inflation of two cities (Mataram and Bima city) was -0,06 percent, in other words, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased from 112,24 in September 2022 to 112,18 in October 2022.

▪ Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced deflation of -0,12 percent and of -0,20 percent, respectively.

▪ Inflation was due to decreasing price index of the following expenditure groups: transport about -0,45 percent; and food, beverages, and tobacco about -0,27 percent. Meanwhile, the price index of the following expenditure group increased; furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance about 0,31 percent; clothing and footwear about 0,30 percent; recreation, sport, and culture about 0,28 percent; food and beverage serving services/restaurant about 0,24 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel about 0,16 percent; health about 0,08 percent; personal care and other services about 0,05 percent; information, communication, and financial services about 0,01 percent; and education about 0,00 percent..

▪ Inflation rate of combined two cities (Mataram and Bima City) in October 2022 based on the calendar year, was 5,85 percent. It was higher compared to October 2021 which was 1,44 percent. Furthermore, the year-on-year inflation rate in October 2022 was documented at 6,57, also higher than the year-on-year inflation rate in October 2021 which was 1,90 percent.
