NTB, April 2022: Farmer Trade Index Was Around 104,75

▪ Farmer terms of trade (FTT) is the ratio between the indices of price received by farmers (It) and the indices of the price paid by farmers

▪ FTT can be interpreted as an indicator to observe the purchasing power parity of farmers in the rural area. FTT also shows the terms of trade between agricultural products and consumption of goods and services as well as production cost.

▪ FTT April 2022 was 104,75, decreased by 1,39 percent compared to the previous month. It is because the indices of the price received by farmers decreased by 0,39 percent, while the indices of the price paid by farmers increased by 1,01 percent.

▪ The value of farmer terms of trade by sub sector as follows: food crops about 103,67; horticulture about 110,19; smallholders estate crops about 92,99; animal husbandry about 107,91; and fishery about 112,34.

▪ In April 2022, the Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) rose due to increasing value of all expenditure groups except for Information, communication and financial services. It values remain unchanged.

▪ Agricultural terms of trade in April 2022 was 104,41 percent, decreased by 0,91 percent compared to the previous month.
