An increase in the percentage of poor people (P0) during the period September 2019 - March 2020 was 0.09 percentage points.
In March 2020, the number of poor people in urban areas was 368.43 thousand people or 14.90 percent, while the number of poor people in rural areas was 345.45 thousand people or 13.09 percent.
The role of food commodities towards the Poverty Line is far greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). This happens both in urban and rural areas. In March 2020, the contribution of the Food Poverty Line to the Poverty Line was 74.71 percent for urban areas and 74.73 percent for rural areas.
In the period September 2019 - March 2020, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) in West Nusa Tenggara increased from 2.119 in September 2019 to 2.577 in March 2020. This indicates that the average expenditure of the poor in West Nusa Tenggara tends to move away from the Poverty Line. Then the Poverty Severity Index (P2) also increased from 0.519 in September 2019 to 0.611 in March 2020. This means that the gap between the poor is widening.
The Poverty Depth Index (P1) in urban and rural areas has increased. For urban areas, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) increased from 2.169 in September 2019 to 2,544 in March 2020. For rural areas, the Poverty Depth Index (P1) increased from 2,073 in September 2019 to 2.609 in March 2020. Furthermore, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) for urban and rural areas also experienced an increase. For urban areas, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) increased from 0.533 in September 2019 to 0.537 in March 2020. For rural areas, the Poverty Severity Index (P2) increased from 0.505 in September 2019 to 0.681 in March 2020.
