Abstract

The calculation of farmer terms of trade (FTT) was based on the base year 2012=100.  In July 2019, the value of farmer terms of trade by sub sector as follows: food crops about 117,93, horticulture about 81,72; smallholders estate crops about 93,34; animal husbandry about 130,82; and fishery about 111,24. Farmer terms of trade of fishery can be distinguished into two types which are capture fishery and aquaculture fishery about 122,44 and 93,18, respectively. All in all, farmer terms of trade in July 2019 documented at 112,29, increased about 1,33 percent compared to its value in the previous month which was about 110,82 percent.

Agricultural terms of trade in July 2019 was 120,29 percent, increased by 0,79 percent compared to last month that was 119,35 percent. Majority of agricultural terms of trade reached the value above 100 except for horticulture which only amounted of 90,60 percent. The agricultural terms of trade of other sub sectors were as follows: animal husbandry (142,17); food crops (122,83); fishery (122,30); and smallholders estate crops (102,13).

Of 33 province, 25 provinces experienced an increase in the value of its farmer terms of trade meanwhile the rest experienced otherwise. The highest increase occurred in Gorontalo of 1,90 percent, while the highest decrease occurred in Sumatra Selatan of -0,96 percent.

In July 2019, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced rural deflation about 0,48 percent. This was due to decreasing value of Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about -1,27 percent.
