Abstract
• In May 2019, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced inflation about 0,82 percent, in other words Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased from 134,47 in April 2019 to 135,57 in May 2019. The national level also experienced inflation about 0,68 percent.
• Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced inflation which were 0,73 percent and 1,18 percent, respectively.
• Inflation was due to increasing price index of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 2,31 percent; transport, communication and financial services about 0,64 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel about 0,45 percent; clothing about 0,44 percent; prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco about 0,19 percent; health about 0,10 percent; education, recreation and sport about 0,01 percent.
• Inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in May 2019, based on calendar year, was about 1,18 percent. It was higher compared to May 2018 which was around 0,74 percent. Meanwhile, inflation rate of year on year in May 2019 documented at 3,61 percent which was also higher than the inflation rate of year on year in April 2018 that was about 2,82 percent.
