NTB, December 2018: FER decreased by 0,27 percent

The calculation of farmer terms of trade (FTT) was based on the base year 2012=100.  In December 2018, the value of farmer terms of trade by sub sector as follows: food crops about 117,55, horticulture about 80,55; smallholders estate crops about 92,95; animal husbandry about 127,14; and fishery about 108,72. Farmer terms of trade of fishery can be distinguished into two types which are capture fishery and aquaculture fishery about 118,02 and 93,47, respectively. All in all, farmer terms of trade in December 2018 documented at 110,91, decreased about 0,27 percent compared to its value in December 2017 which was about 111,21 percent.

Agricultural terms of trade in December 2018 was 119,77 percent, increased by 0,19 percent compared to previous month that was around 119,54 percent. Majority of agricultural terms of trade reached the value above 100 except for horticulture which only amounted of 90,62 percent. The agricultural terms of trade of other sub sectors were animal husbandry (139,03); food crops (122,77); fishery (119,37); and smallholders estate crops (104,05).

Of 33 province, 11 provinces experienced an increase in the value of its farmer terms of trade meanwhile the rest experienced otherwise. The highest increase occurred in Maluku of 0,81 percent, while the highest decrease occurred in Sulawesi Barat -2,34 percent.

In December 2018, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced rural inflation about 1,06 percent. This was due to the increasing value of Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 1,87 percent; clothing about 0,63 percent; prepared food, beverages and tobacco about 0,51 percent; transportation and communication about 0,36 percent; health about 0,15 percent; housing about 0,14 percent; and education, recreation and sport about 0,14 percent.
