Abstract

In December 2018, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced inflation about 0,62 percent, in other words Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased from 133,17 in November 2018 to 133,99 in December 2018. The national level also experienced inflation about 0,62 percent.

Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced inflation which were 0,53 percent and 0,95 percent, respectively.

Inflation was due to increasing price index of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 2,40 percent; prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco about 0,31 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel about 0,06 percent; health about 0,02 percent; and education, recreation and sport about 0,02 percent. Meanwhile, decreasing price index occurred in transport, communication and financial services about 0,09 percent; and clothing about 0,01 percent.

Inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in December 2018, based on calendar year, was about 3,16 percent. It was lower compared to December 2017 which was around 3,70 percent. Meanwhile, inflation rate of year on year in December 2018 documented at 3,16 percent which was lower than the inflation rate of year on year in December 2017 that was about 3,70 percent.
