Abstract

The calculation of farmer terms of trade (FTT) was based on the
base year 2012=100.  In August 2018, the value of farmer terms of
trade by sub sector as follows: food crops about 110,66,
horticulture about 79,96; smallholders estate crops about 94,75;
animal husbandry about 130,37; and fishery about 109,74. Farmer
terms of trade of fishery can be distinguished into two types which
are capture fishery and aquaculture fishery about 119,66 and
93,66, respectively. In general, farmer terms of trade of NTB was
documented at 108,99, increased about 0,96 percent compared to
its value in July 2018 which was about 107,95 percent.
Agricultural terms of trade in August 2018 was around 118,01, increased by 0,18 percent compared to July
2018 that was around 117,80 percent. Majority of agricultural terms of trade reached the value above 100
except for horticulture which only amounted of 89,92 percent. The agricultural terms of trade of other sub
sectors were animal husbandry (144,13); fishery (119,60);  food  crops (115,57) and smallholders estate
crops (106,28).
Of 33 province, 23 province experienced an increase meanwhile 10 others experienced a decrease in the
value of its farmer terms of trade. The highest increase occured in Jawa Timur of 2,40 percent, while the
highest decrease occurred in Riau of -1,25 percent.
In August 2018, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced rural deflation about -0,52 percent. This was due to the
decreasing value of Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) of the following expenditure group: foodstuff
about -1,19 percent; and education, recreation and sport about -0,02.
