March 2018: Farmers Exchange Rate in NTB rises 0.61 Percent

Abstract

·         The calculation of farmer terms of trade (FTT) was based on the base year 2012=100 in which the value farmer terms of trade by sub sector in March 2018 was as follows: food crops about 110.80, horticulture about 82,84; smallholders estate crops about 92,59; animal husbandry about 121,39; and fishery about 104,02. Farmer terms of trade of fishery can be distinguished into two types that are capture fishery and aquaculture fishery about 111,72 and 91,55, respectively. Therefore, farmer terms of trade of NTB was documented at 106,66, increased about 0,61 percent compared to its value in February 2018 which was about 106,02.

·         Agricultural terms of trade in March 2018 was around 115,96, decreased by 0,13 percent compared to February 2018 that was around 116,11 percent. Majority of agricultural terms of trade reached the value above 100 except of horticulture which only amounted of 93,59. The agricultural terms of trade of other sub sectors were animal husbandry (134,23); food  crops (116,36); fishery (113,58), and smallholders estate crops (104,44).

·         Of 33 province, 12 province experienced an increase meanwhile 21 other experienced a decrease. The highet increase occured in Sulawesi Barat of 1,81 percent, while the highest decrease occurred in Kepulauan Riau of -1,50 percent.

·         In March 2018, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation which was 0,55 percent. This was due to the decreasing value of Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) of Food stuff about -1,64 percent, while other sub-group that showed increasing value includes: housing about 0,89 percent; prepared food about 0,43 percent; clothing about 0,35 percent; health about 0,34 percent; transportation and communication about 0,22 percent; and education, recreation and sport about 0,18 percent.
